Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is considered among the top engineering institutes in the entire country. It was started in 1959 as one of the constituent units of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Eligibility Criteria at IIT Kanpur

Candidates, who are applying for the undergraduate level programmes, must have successfully passed 10+2 level of examination, from any statutory Board. The qualifying examination needs to have cleared by the aspirants with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects of science stream.

Candidates can apply for the post graduate programme after passing under graduation in the relevant streams, from any recognized University. The final year appearing students are also eligible for these PG programmes.

Candidates need to have cleared post graduate level study to be eligible for this doctorate programme, which should be recognized by any University.

Admission Criteria IIT Kanpur

The admission of the candidates to the undergraduate level programmes is done on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The candidates are short listed to the postgraduate and doctorate level programmes on the basis of their ranks in  GATE / JAM / JMET entrance test.
