National Power Training Institute New Delhi
National Power Training Institute is located in Badarpur area of New Delhi . Established in the year of 1974, it is managed and run by National Apex Body by the Government of India, Ministry of Power. NPTI has five regional institutes located at Neyveli (Tamil Nadu), Durgapur (West Bengal), Badarpur (New Delhi ), Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Guwahati (Assam ).
National Power Training Institute New Delhi aims to provide an excellent education in the field of power engineering. To accomplish its aim, the institute imparts undergraduate, postgraduate degree and diploma level programmes in the study of power management and power engineering. All these programmes are conducted under the rules and regulations of the National Apex Body, Government of India.
National Power Training Institute (NPTI) New Delhi conducts all its courses as per the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The educational institute is also an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Certified Institution.
National Power Training Institute Delhi is committed for the overall personality development of its students by providing them state-of-the-art facilities, within the campus. Programmes
National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Delhi conducts these following programmes, at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The admission procedure is also given along with these courses.
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) in Power Engineering
National Power Training Institute New Delhi imparts Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) in Power Engineering. The undergraduate level programme is conducted for a four-year full-time duration. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The BE/B Tech (Power Engineering) programme of the institute has been affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIP), Nagpur University and West Bengal University of Technology. The power engineering specialization of the programme is conducted in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering.
The admission procedure for this programme is decided according to the ranks of the candidates in Common Entrance Test (CET), which is conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIP), New Delhi .
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme of the National Power Training Institute is conducted in the field of Power Management. The two-year full-time programme is affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University , Rohtak and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The postgraduate programme is offered with the aim of coping with the emerging requirements of Power Managers in the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The engineering institute offers 120 seats for the students.
Admission to this Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is offered to those candidates who have passed three years of bachelor’s study in any discipline, from any recognized University. The qualifying examination must have passed by them with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
Candidates will be selected to this postgraduate programme on the basis of their marks in the Common Admission Test (CAT). The successful candidates of the CAT exam must appear for group discussion and personal interview.
Post Graduate Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering
The Post Graduate Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering programme is offered by the NPTI with the motive of developing skills and the attitude for newer and practising diploma engineers. The institute offers 50 seats for this post-graduate programme.
The PG programme is conducted for a one-year full-time duration. It is offered for those candidates, who have completed three years of bachelor’s examination in BE / B Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Power/ Electronics/ Control & Instrumentation Engineering. Final year appearing students can apply for this PG programme.
Selections of the candidates to this programme are decided through the ranks of their in PGDC Common Entrance Test (CET), which is conducted by the institute. For the final selection, counselling is also conducted for the successful candidates of the entrance test.
Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering
National Power Training Institute Delhi also conducts the postgraduate programme in the form of Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering. It is a one-year full-time programme, which was launched in 1999. The course is conducted with an objective of bringing industry-oriented specialized skills in the students in order to cope with the requirements of the power sector.
To apply for this Post Graduate programme, candidates have to pass under graduation examination in the relevant field of study, from any recognized Indian or international University. Selections will be decided according to the performances of the candidates in the qualifying examination.
Post Graduate Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering
National Power Training Institute New Delhi imparts Post Graduate Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering for the 39 weeks duration. The PG level programme covers various specializations in the field of Hydro Power Plant Engineering such as O & M, Erection, Commissioning, Management, Distribution of Electricity & Tariff.
The candidates, who have passed three years of bachelor’s level examination in the relevant stream, are eligible to apply for this PG programme. Final year appearing students can also seek admission to this course. However, candidates are selected on the basis of their marks in the qualifying examination.
Post Graduate Diploma in GIS & RS
The one-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma programme in GIS & RS is conducted for Engineering and Geo-Science Graduates & Post Graduates. Started in 2007, National Power Training Institute New Delhi conducts this programme with the motives of providing advanced and frontier technologies in GIS & Remote and providing skills professionals to the industry.
Aspirants, who have cleared graduation or post-graduation in any discipline with having basic knowledge in computers, can apply for this post-graduate programme. The institute offers 50 seats for this course. Admissions are done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the group discussion and personal interview.
Post Graduate Diploma in Operation & Maintenance of Transmission & Distribution Systems
The Post Graduate Diploma in Operation & Maintenance of Transmission & Distribution Systems course of the institute is provided with the aim of generation excellent manpower for the Indian Power Sector. The course is offered for the 26 weeks time duration.
The post-graduate programme of the institute has been approved by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Government of India. Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering & Electrical Power, to apply for this course.
Admissions to the PG Diploma course n Operation & Maintenance of Transmission & Distribution Systems are conducted on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination. The intake for this PG course is 50 seats.
