The Indian Law Institute

 

The Indian Law Institute, which is located in Delhi, is one of the prominent law schools in the country. It was established in 1956 as an autonomous body, which is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Talking about its administrative structure, Respected Chief Justice of India is the ex-officio President of the Institute and the Law Minister of Government of India and the Attorney-General for India are its ex-officio Vice Presidents. The third Vice-President is elected by the members of the Governing Council, from among themselves.

The Indian Law Institute has acquired the status of ‘Deemed University in 2004 under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It conducts postgraduate degree and diploma courses of law.

Eligibility Criteria at the Indian Law Institute
The candidates must have passed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate, from any recognized University. For PG diploma level course, one has to clear under graduation exam in any discipline that should be recognized by any University.

Admission Procedure at the Indian Law Institute
Selections will be made to the LLM programmes on the basis of candidates’ performances in Common Admission Test, which is conducted by the institute.
