Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) is located in Mesra, Ranchi (Jharkhand). It came into existence in 1955 and now it is a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The technological institute has got recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India and approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
