Gyan Institute of Management & Technology is located in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. It was established in the year 1998 as one of the constituent units of Gyan Charity Trust, Lucknow. The management institute has received affiliation from Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Gyan Institute of Management & Technology Lucknow is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Gyan Institute of Management & Technology Lucknow imparts postgraduate degree and diploma level courses in the management field i.e. Master of Business Administration (MBA), a two-year full time programme and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), which is also a two-year programme. Both the courses are conducted as per the rules and regulations of the University.
