Government College of Education Burdwan is one of the oldest teaching institutes in the state of West Bengal. It marked its presence way back in 1964 and since then it has been a pioneer in preparing skilled teachers for the country. The College is affiliated to the University of Burdwan, a UGC (University Grants Commission) recognized University.  The Government College of Education Burdwan, West Bengal, is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a statutory body of the Government of India.
