PMET 2016 Exam Dates Revealed by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the exam date of its Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET). It will be conducted on May 15, 2016. The University takes this entrance test for the people admission to its two undergraduate programmes in medical and dental sciences - Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) for the academic session of 2016. The applying candidates can get their admit cards in the month of May.



Eligibility Criteria for PMET 2016 Exam 

Those students, who have passed their 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry and biology or biotechnology and English as an optional subject with minimum 50% marks (45% for differently abled persons and 40% for SC/BC candidates from a recognized University, can apply for this entrance test. However, they should be the resident of Punjab state.

PMET 2016 Exam Pattern 

Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) will be based on 200 objective type questions derived from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates will have to complete the exam within the duration of 150 minutes and there will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Syllabus for PMET Exam 2016

The preparation of the candidates, applying for PMET 2016, should be based on these subjects:

Physics: Magnetic effect of Current and Magnetism, Solids and Semiconductor Devices, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Motion in One Dimension, Wave Motion, Simple Harmonic Motion, Modern Physics: (Atomic Models), Physics of Nucleus, Laws of Motion.

Biology: Systematics, Genetics, Chemical Coordination, Genetics-Molecular Basis of Inheritance, Animal Morpho Cell, Reproduction in Higher Plants, Monera, Plantae, Plant Morpho, Mineral Nutrients, Photosynthesis, Animal Tissues, Animal Reproduction and Development.

Chemistry: General Organic Chemistry, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds, S-block Elements, Chemical Thermodynamics, Biomolecules, Ionic Equilibrium, Transition Elements (d and f block), P-block Elements, Alcohol Phenol Ether.
