University of Delhi Begins Admission to its PhD Programme in History 2016

Delhi University has started the admission procedure for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in History for the session 2016, under the Department of History. The interest candidates have to go through an entrance test, which will be conducted on February 2, 2016, to see themselves enrolled in this doctorate programme of the University. The entrance test will be followed by an interview which will be held on February 15, 2016.



Before applying to the entrance test for DU PhD programme in History 2016, the candidates must have cleared their MA or M. Phil examination from University of Delhi or its equivalent recognized University. The qualifying marks will be minimum 50% in M. Phil examination and 55% marks in Master's degree examination.

The entrance test will be conducted for two-hour duration in which the candidates have to answer any one question out of four. The questions will be comprised of passages derived from important topics of History especially Indian history, historiography, world history and the utilization of sources. The entrance test will have maximum marks of 100.

As far as application procedure for Delhi University's PhD in History programme is concerned, the candidates have to submit their application besides one copy of the synopsis on the topic of their projected research to the Office of the Department of History. The application form is available on the official website of the Delhi University, which will be submitted to Department of History, 'University of Delhi’, Delhi 110007.
